Are you attending college or are you going to be attending college within the next few years? You are off to a great start looking for ways to pay for it. The farther away college is for you, the better.

It costs a lot of money to go to college. After tuition adds up with all the fees and room and board, you can expect to pay a lot of money. Some colleges have tuition fees that are just outrageous.

One way to cut down costs is to go to a cheaper school. If you went to a community college first for two years and than transferred to your favorite more expensive school, you spend a lot less and still get that degree from the other school.

Many students refuse to ‘give up their college lives’ and go to a state school or community college. Let me tell you, the amount you pay will not tell you how great of a 4 years you’ll have or how valuable your degree will be. Even then, it’s four years of your life.

You can start getting money for college by saving. The more you save now the less you’ll have to save later. Also, the sooner you start saving for college, the more you’ll have saved.

Okay, I know what you’re saying, these aren’t free. There are ways to get free money for college, mainly through college scholarships and grants.

You can apply for all kinds of scholarships. There are so many. You just need to qualify and fit the criteria, and if you are chosen, you could win the scholarship.

Look for scholarships at your school’s guidance office, look for local scholarships, sign up for online scholarship sites, and apply wherever you can. Scholarship money can add up. $100 here, $500 there, or you could get a full ride scholarship.
