I have begun to eat apples whole. I mean I don’t eat around the core, I eat the core too, seeds and all. Why not? I find myself never wanting to throw anything away. Such a pain in the butt to have to eat around the core being careful not to get one of those unchewable pods caught in between your teeth and then to have to transport the wet, saliva slimed core around in your hand until you find an appropriate waste basket. Yuk! Why not just eat the whole thing. Pop it right into your mouth and chew and swallow and voila! No fuss no muss it is gone – properly dispensed with. Eventually it will be flushed into the Earth, absorbed into the ground, its digested nutrient able to benefit all manner of slug and worm and voracious varmint. Bestowed with renewed and edible riches these slimy, devouring, underground living beasties care not about the above ground concerns of us air breathing, talking, hungering, slumbering Earth walkers are involved with. Simple nervous systems, not a thought do they have about things like paying bills, falling in love, sending their kids to school or concerns about gathering information about bankruptcy.
